There were a couple of places in this book that tore me apart emotionally. I kept thinking it all pointed to an unreliable narrator and was going crazy trying to figure out what was real and what was part of the hoax. The way Julie Clark wrote this made me question everything, even from the narrator’s first-person perspective. Meg couldn’t have been as successful in conning people without being smart and insightful.īecause this story is told from two points of view, both Kat’s and Meg’s, you get a sense of where they are psychologically and why they do what they do. Watching Kat try to scam the scammer was like watching an accident waiting to happen.
